From zero bookings to six figures a year (after year after year)

Before my own design studio, Viola Hill Studio, became a reality, I was in a comfortable corporate job. You know the one — good salary, benefits, stability. It was just missing one crucial element: creative fulfillment.

I started my studio as a side project in 2017, and by 2018 it was my full time gig. It was butterflies-in-the-stomach exhilarating, but not without challenges. (Side note: don’t trust anyone who says they started a biz without challenges.)

In early 2019, I hit a rough patch with zero (and I mean zero) bookings for months. Instead of giving in to doubt, I used this time to refine my business — revamping my client processes and presentations.

This strategic shift was a turning point. By 2020, despite global challenges, my studio achieved a six-figure revenue. More importantly, I managed this without burnout. I had created a business model that allowed for a healthy work-life balance, efficient processes, and satisfying client relationships — and I’ve been able to maintain this six figure revenue year after year.

Now, I'm eager to share these lessons with you.

Also, being 1:1, it’s highly personalized. Over three months, we'll dive into the details of your business together. Honestly, you'll be amazed at how much we can accomplish when we focus on you and your goals.

  • I don’t know about you, but I haven’t gotten 100% out of any group coaching or group course I've ever taken. The 1:1 guidance is necessary for me, and I so wanted to provide that for my mentees. If you’d prefer a group, there are lots of other options out there. This is what I believe works best.

  • Absolutely! I started my studio as a side project, and it’s a great way to do it. The program is designed to be flexible and accommodate varying schedules. We'll work together to find a schedule that suits you.

  • Perfect. This mentorship is for designers at various stages, including those new to business. If you have a foundation in design and a passion to grow your “business-y” side, this program will provide you with the necessary tools and knowledge to build a successful business.

  • The sessions are conducted virtually, which allows us to connect no matter where you're located. This format offers flexibility and convenience, so that you can participate from the comfort of your home or studio (or kitchen counter or pool-side-bistro table … you get it).
